Bitter Luis Enrique slags off opponents after Barcelona loss, says he’d rather watch Real Madrid

Perhaps understandably, Luis Enrique has lashed out at Real Sociedad after the Basque side secured a 1-0 victory over his Barcelona outfit on Saturday.

Two weeks ago, Barca appeared to be romping to the Liga BBVA title as their undefeated streak showed no sign of slowing.

However, back-to-back defeats against fierce rivals Real Madrid in last weekend’s El Clasico, and Saturday’s 1-0 deficit to Real Sociedad, have cut Barca’s lead and left the Catalan heavyweights on the brink of potential collapse as they head into the final strait of the season.

With Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both winning—the former 3-1 at Espanyol, and the latter 4-0 against Eibar—Barca’s lead at the top of the Spanish top flight has been cut to three points over Atleti and four over Zinedine Zidane’s Real.

Speaking after the match, as per AS, Luis Enrique has criticised Real Sociedad, slandering their style of play and insisting that the Clasico loss was easier to take than Saturday’s 1-0 reverse.

“Real [Sociedad] are always a stone in the shoe,” the coach began. “I’d rather lose against a team that play good football like Real [Madrid].

“I’d like to come to eat a steak here, but not watch football.”
