Manchester United & Arsenal to battle for Brazilian angered by treatment at current club

Manchester United and Arsenal could battle each other for the signing of Marquinhos after being alerted of the defender’s unhappiness at Paris Saint-Germain, according to The Mirror.

The Mirror reports that the Brazilian was angry with being left on the bench as the runaway French champions drew 2-2 with Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

And The Mirror understands that the 21-year-old is also frustrated with having been played out of position this season, and is assessing his options ahead of the summer window.

Marquinhos has often been squeezed into the PSG team at right-back by Laurent Blanc, who prefers the combination of his Brazil colleagues Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the middle.

United and Arsenal could both do with strengthening their central defensive options, and could promise Marquinhos the chance to play in his natural position if they indeed make a swoop.

The Mirror claims that PSG would be looking to make a big profit on the £25m that they bought Marquinhos for three years ago, and might also find a suitor in Spanish giants Barcelona.
