Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has been one of the few bright spots for the team in this lost season. The talented ace has continued to develop and has earned considerable interest from the Premier League. Now it looks like future Man United manager Jose Mourinho plans to make Gomes one of his first targets to bring to Old Trafford.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio [per the Metro], Jose Mourinho plans to tap into his relationship with his agent Jorge Mendes – who also happens to be the agent for Gomes – in order to get a leg-up in signing the Portugal midfielder. Mourinho has been tipped to get the Man United job this summer but has reportedly only received a gentleman’s agreement while Louis van Gaal continues to make a last-ditch effort to secure a Champions League berth. Per the source, Mendes plans to wait until Mourinho formally gets a new team before making a decision on Gomes’s future.
The 22-year-old midfielder has four goals and four assists this season, and was impressive in the Champions League and Europa League under Gary Neville.
