Real Madrid coach reveals intriguing Wolfsburg plan; Zidane aiming for Bernabeu party

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has revealed some intriguing pre-match plans for Los Merengues’ Champions League return against Wolfsburg.

Los Blancos are under severe pressure following a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in Germany last week, and the Spanish giants will know that they need to improve their performance significantly in order to give themselves the best possible chance of advancing to the semi-finals of Europe’s premier  club competition.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, as per Goal, Zizou has revealed an intriguing hands off approach to his side’s upcoming UCL showdown.

“I don’t think you have to say much to the players,” Zidane began. “There will be time, we’ll be together, but there’s not too much to talk about.

“They know what lies ahead and what we have to do. What concerns me the most is to see the players’ faces and to see that they’re involved.”

The legendary playmaker has also revealed his intention to treat the Real fans to a ‘party’, presumably after the capital club confirm passage to the final four.

“It’s a special club,” the World Cup-winner continued. “Tomorrow, what we have to do is give them that special party, so that everyone is proud of us.”

A fortnight ago, Real arguably had only the Champions League to think about, having drifted off the pace in La Liga.

However, following a 4-0 demolition of Eibar in the league this weekend, and with Barca having taken only one point from their last three matches, the Catalan giants have seen their lead at the top of the table whittled away.
