Jamie Vardy faces extra ban for calling ref a “f*****g c**t”

Leicester City could very well see their title hopes upended in the final stretch as star striker Jamie Vardy may face a multi-game match ban for improper behaviour on the pitch during his ejection in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United.

According to the Telegraph, Vardy is facing an additional match ban from the Football Association after allegedly calling referee Jonathan Moss a “f*****g c**t” and jabbing the official with his finger following his red card ejection. Vardy will already miss Leicester City’s match against Swansea City due to the mandatory match ban, but now could face serious additional discipline.

The second yellow card was controversial enough with Vardy earning it for diving – a fair, yet seldom carded call, and forced Leicester City to play with 10 men for more than 30 minutes, ultimately conceding the lead and two goals en route to a draw.

The Foxes own a seven-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur with four weeks left of the season, though the Spurs have a game in hand. Vardy is one of the league’s two leading scorers with 22 goals on the season.

Leicester City need eight points to clinch the Premier League title and shock the football world.

Vardy will be sorely missed, no matter how long he ends up getting banned for.
