Chelsea in lead for £6m striker after Spurs drop out of race

Long considered a target for Mauricio Pochettino, Fulham striker Moussa Dembele has now become a target for one of Tottenham Hotspur’s biggest London rivals.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have emerged as the top contenders for the French forward now that the Spurs have lost interest. The 19-year-old Dembele has scored a career-high 16 goals and made 6 assists in 43 competitions for Fulham this year.

Chelsea are expected to make significant changes to their group of forwards next season under incoming new manager Antonio Conte.

While Harry Kane has set the entire Premier League on fire with his goalscoring prowess, the forward depth for the Spurs is questionable with Son Heung-min and Clinton N’jie being the only other forwards on the team. If they have lost interest in Dembele, it may mean they have their sights set elsewhere.

The French forward has also earned three caps for the national Under-20 team.
