It took less than 10 minutes for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to re-take the Premier League goalscoring lead that Jamie Vardy had tied on Sunday, smashing a shot past Stoke City goalkeeper Shay Given to give the Spurs a 1-0 lead.
Perhaps Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner should just sell his entire roster and try to land Kane. Then again, it’s doubtful it would have been enough to save his team from relegation.
Nonetheless, one thing the Spurs ace and Aston Villa have connecting them is an identical number of goals through 34 games in the season with 23 goals apiece.

Kane already has a career-high with 23 goals, exceeding last year’s mark of 21 – which was good for 2nd in the league behind Sergio Aguero. The Spurs ace is neck-and-neck with Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy for the lead, but the Foxes’ striker is expected to miss a game or more for a suspension, giving Kane the perfect opportunity to extend his lead for the Golden Boot.
UPDATE: Harry Kane has now scored more goals than all of Aston Villa after bagging his 24th in the second half against Stoke City.
