Juventus manager wants to land Chelsea star before signing new contract

Massimiliano Allegri has pulled off one of the best mid-season turnarounds in recent memory for Juventus, taking the reigning Serie A champions from the bottom half of the table to a nine-point lead with just a few weeks to go. The Italy giants want to give their prized manager a new contract, but apparently Allegri wants to make sure he has a top player on his transfer list signed before he does – that player being Chelsea midfielder Oscar.

According to the Metro, Oscar is one of Allegri’s top transfer targets and the Juventus boss has insisted that the Old Lady bring in the Brazilian before signing a contract extension of his own.

The Chelsea midfielder has had a bit of a down year, making just 20 Premier League starts this season. He is on pace for his fewest league starts in a season since joining Chelsea in the 2012-13 season.

Juventus have also expressed interest in Isco, Javier Pastore and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – perhaps as insurance in case they eventually lose superstar Paul Pogba.
