Barcelona look to £15m Kasper Schmeichel as Liverpool target prepares to leave

Leicester City hero Kasper Schmeichel is a shock target for Barcelona as the Spanish giants prepare for the exit of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to The Sun.

The Sun claims that Ter Stegen is looking to leave the Camp Nou this summer after having to play deputy to Claudio Bravo in goal throughout the La Liga campaign.

The Sun understands that Liverpool are hot on the trail of Ter Stegen, and that Barca are looking to the Premier League for potential replacements for the German.

Schmeichel has been in sensational form during Leicester’s fairytale tilt at the Premier League title, and it would take a special offer to convince the 29-year-old to leave.

He is a senior figure at the King Power Stadium, and the promise of Champions League football for the Foxes next season means that he has little reason to move away.

But The Sun reports that has not stopped Barca from tracking the Denmark international, and cranking up their interest in him last month ahead of a possible £15m deal.

The Sun adds that Southampton stopper Fraser Forster is also on Barca’s radar, and has been since catching their eye with his immense displays against them for Celtic.
