Asmir Begovic may not have much of a say as to who Chelsea sign in the upcoming transfer window, but the Blues stopper was more than willing to present his idea as to who would make a good addition to the Blues’ ranks.
‘I would go for Dimitri Payet at West Ham,’ Begovic said.
‘He’s a fantastic player, a fantastic talent, he’s someone who I’d like to sign, possibly.’
Payet has had a stunning breakout season in the Premier League for the Hammers, scoring nine goals with nine assists and earning PFA Team of the Year honours and a nomination for PFA Player of the Year. His play has lifted West Ham into seventh place on the season and can still qualify for the Europa League next season.
Chelsea have received very minimal contributions from their most recent big-name signings such as Juan Cuadrado, Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato, but could see that trend end with Payet.
