Agent of Barcelona wonderkid admits starlet could leave Nou Camp…but isn’t keen on EPL

The agent of Alen Halilovic has admitted that while the teenage midfielder could leave Barcelona this summer, he isn’t keen on a switch to the Premier League.

According to Marca, the wonderkid has received several offers ahead of a potential summer move, with some of his suitors coming from the Premier League.

However, the youngster’s representative—Zoran Stojadinovic—has admitted that should Barcelona entertain loan offers for the starlet, he’d rather stay in Spain than move to England.

“If Barcelona choose to loan him out again,” the agent began, as reported by Marca, “we prefer Halilovic to stay in Spain.

“For him,” Stojadinovic continued, “La Liga is better than the Premier League.”

19-year-old Halilovic moved to Barca from Croatian heavyweights Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, but has struggled to establish himself amidst the Catalan giants’ myriad of midfield options.

He was sent out to Sporting Gijon at the beginning of the 2015-16 season, and while the youngster has impressed—contributing five assists and scoring three goals—he has been unable to help Los Rojiblancos pull away from the relegation zone.

His future remains up in the air, and while it’s not impossible that he remains at Barcelona and looks to force his way into Luis Enrique’s plans next season, a more likely alternative is that he seeks another temporary move to a Spanish side higher up the league table.
