Sneaky German giants trying to pry Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal

Perhaps in preparation of an impending transfer raid on their own roster, Bayern Munich have been making the rounds in the Premier League to find a striker they can add to their ranks. Unfortunately for Arsenal, that could spell trouble in their bid to retain superstar Alexis Sanchez.

According to the Mirror, Bayern Munich have been making ‘discreet inquiries’ as to the availability of the Chilean striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich are expected to lose midfielder Mario Gotze to Liverpool this summer, and may not be able to hold off Real Madrid from landing star striker Robert Lewandowski either.

Arsenal acquired Sanchez from Barcelona in 2014 in a £33 million transfer move – a rare splash of cash by the often-thrifty Arsene Wenger. The move paid off though as Sanchez made an immediate impact, scoring 16 Premier League goals and 25 total goals en route to the FA Cup title.

Sanchez is one of several Arsenal stars seeking a contract extension, with a £160,000-a-week offer believed to be on the table for the Chilean superstar.
