Chelsea are in need of a serious rebuild at midfielder after the way the team’s stars at the position struggled this past year. Topping the transfer list for future Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is Ajax starlet Riechedly Bazoer, who the new Blues boss is prepared to pay a premium to bring to Stamford Bridge.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are willing to pay Ajax up to £24 million to acquire the Dutch central midfielder. Per the source the 19-year-old is seen as a long term replacement for the struggling Nemanja Matic or the departed Ramires, who Chelsea sold earlier this season.
Bazoer has scored seven goals over the past two seasons and has a career-high this year with five in 28 Eredivisie matches. He received his first call-up to the Netherlands national team before his 17th birthday and got his first cap this past November in a win over Wales.
The Blues received disappointing contributions from Eden Hazard and Oscar this past year, and both have been linked with moves out of England.
