Liverpool boss lining up €30m bid for former Dortmund favourite

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly looking at a reunion with Ivan Perisic this summer, but it will cost him €30m to sign him from Inter.

The Croatian international joined the Nerazzurri last summer, and despite scoring eight goals in 35 appearances for the club, he is already being linked with an exit.

According to Mediaset Premium, as noted by Football Italia, Klopp remains a big admirer of Perisic having worked with him during their time together at Dortmund between 2011 and 2013.

In turn, the German tactician is willing to pay up to €30m to convince Inter to part company with the 27-year-old who he will hope can prove to become an important part of his plans at Anfield.

Given the former Wolfsburg star’s versatility, work rate and quality in the final third, he could represent the ideal player to add depth to the squad in Merseyside.

The summer transfer market is seen as a huge opportunity for Klopp to continue to build on the foundations that he has put down at Liverpool, as he will undoubtedly target players that fit his style of play which in turn will help add consistency to their performances.

Perisic has become an important part of Roberto Mancini’s work in Milan, but whether or not the Italian giants opt to make changes this summer remains to be seen.

As it looks likely that they’ll miss out on the Champions League, Inter will hope to strengthen their squad to take the last step, and that could involve selling individuals first to raise funds in order to go out and sign their preferred targets.
