Now that Mauricio Pochettino has committed his future to Tottenham Hotspur, the team has resumed getting the core of its unit under wraps for as long as they need. One of the most important non-attacking players the Spurs hope to extend is prized goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who is set to be next in the team’s extension plans.
According to Squawka via the Mirror, Lloris has been made a priority at White Hart Lane and will receive an extension to his current deal which as of now runs through 2019.
The French goalkeeper has made an average of 2.74 saves per match in the Premier League this season per Squawka stats. He has played in 34 of 35 games for the Spurs and is the fifth-leading clean sheet recorder in the league with 13.
Lloris also serves as the Spurs captain as well as the French national team captain, and will lead the team in Euro 2016 and in World Cup qualification this Fall.
