Despite Arsene Wenger’s confidence in grooming his own players as opposed to buying some in the transfer window, it’s worth noting that he has gotten terrific contributions from the players he has acquired for Arsenal in transfers. Between Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Petr Cech and Mohamed Elneny, the Gunners have gotten some very solid play at reasonable prices. So Arsenal fans should be excited to hear that they may actually get another star player via transfer: Villarreal attacking midfielder Denis Suarez.
According to the Metro via Marca, Arsenal have opened talks with Villarreal to bring Suarez back to England. Per the source, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are also interested in the 22-year-old winger.
Suarez played briefly for Manchester City’s youth league before making his debut with the club in 2011. He was signed by Barcelona in 2013 and received significant minutes for Barcelona B before joining Sevilla on loan in 2014. This past summer he signed for Villarreal and has since scored four goals in 31 La Liga games.
