Following a 1-0 defeat against the Yellow Submarine in Spain, the Reds needed to hit the ground running in the return bout on Merseyside, and did just that—taking the lead when Bruno put past Alphonse Areola in the seventh minute.
Daniel Sturridge gave Jurgen Klopp’s side the tangible advantage in the tie when he finished in the 63rd minute following Roberto Firmino’s fine assist, but it was Lallana who added the icing on the cake and took the Reds to their fourth Europa League final.

The England international, receiving a deflected ‘pass’ from Sturridge, appeared to be off balance and falling backwards, but had the wherewithal to flick out his right foot and touch the ball into the back of the net for the third goal of the night.
By this point—down to ten men following the dismissal of Victor Ruiz—Villarreal appeared to be dead and buried, while the Kop serenaded their heroes.
In Klopp, they may just have the man to take them all the way.
