Roberto Firmino began pulling out the skills in the second half of Liverpool’s Europa League semi-final second leg, leaving one Villarreal player in his dust as he did so.

Liverpool really grew in confidence after their second goal, with Jurgen Klopp’s side knowing that if they could hold on they’d be into the final. Firmino in particular looked to really perk up, and his beautiful Maradona turn really highlighted how confident he was feeling.

Check out the turn below:

The bit of skill really deserved a goal at the end of the move, but unfortunately Alberto Moreno’s shot from the edge of the box was dragged well wide.

With Liverpool already two to the good, another goal wasn’t necessarily going to be needed. With just one goal required by Villarreal to turn the tables though, Klopp will have no doubt been keen to get that third goal.

After a good save from Simon Mignolet early on, Liverpool took the lead through a Bruno own goal. They never really looked like conceding after that, and when Daniel Sturridge scored their second it appeared to be all over.

Villarreal were then reduced to ten men, and the mountain became that much harder to climb. Finally Adam Lallana got a third for Liverpool, and it definitely looked done and dusted at that point.
