Tottenham to shatter wage ceiling & offer international hitman eye-watering £100k-per-week deal

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Harry Kane a new contract following his outstanding season.

As revealed on Friday’s backpages [shared here via BBC’s Nick Sutton on Twitter], Spurs are hoping that Kane will sign a deal to make him the best-paid player in the history of the North London heavyweights.

The England international has been in excellent form this season, having scored 25 goals in 36 league goals this season, helping the Lilywhites to the brink of a return to the Champions League.

According to the tabloid, the forward is set to receive a new wage of £100,000 per week, which will double his existing £50,000-per-week deal.

The DM note that Spurs currently have a wage cap of £80,000 per week, but that they would be willing to break this glass ceiling to tie down Kane, who has proved this term that he was not a one-season wonder after his magnificent showing last season.

Should the attacker commit his future to the White Hart Lane giants, it will come as a major fillip for Spurs, who will see Kane as a key man next term as they look to establish themselves among Europe’s elite and retain their spot in the EPL’s top four.
