Hundreds of Italian football fans have arrived in Leicester to see Claudio Ranieri and the Foxes lift the Premier League trophy.

It’s a result of a Facebook campaign that has attracted more than 1.2million likes on the designated page, with over 500 Italians already reportedly in the city.

Fans met in Milan on Friday, before driving through Switzerland and taking a ferry from France to arrive in England ahead of kick-off against Everton on Saturday evening.

Ranieri and his players have received praise from all corners this week after it was confirmed that they were Premier League champions.

Having started the season as 5000-1 outsiders, it is undoubtedly the biggest upset in sporting history for many years, and in turn it has attracted significant attention from around the world.

With their more illustrious rivals failing to show the same level of consistency this season, the Foxes have deservedly picked up their first ever top flight title and will now enjoy receiving the trophy this weekend as the party atmosphere is evidently taking over the entire city.
