Man United legend says club would be ‘foolish’ not to sign Bundesliga megastar

Goals have been very hard to come by at Manchester United this season. Despite boasting the 2nd-fewest goals allowed and a fifth-place record with a game in hand as of writing, the club’s 44 goals isn’t even in the top-8 in the Premier League this season. But one Man United legend thinks that the answer to the club’s goalscoring woes could be Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.

In an interview with the Star [per the Metro], former Man United defender Gary Pallister said that Lewandowski, along with Tottenham striker Harry Kane, would be ideal signings for his former club. He even went so far as to say that the two scoring machines would be ‘foolish’ not to seal a transfer to Old Trafford if given the chance.

‘Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski are the kind of players United could look at,’ Pallister said.

‘There’s a lot of talk about Cristiano Ronaldo too, who’d be a great threat, but you don’t want to stunt the growth of Marcus Rashford.

‘He’s come out as if he’s been playing on the big stage for years – and he’s only 18.

‘It’s hard to get players if you don’t qualify for the Champions League but if there’s a chance to play for Manchester United, you’d be foolish to pass that up.’

Kane has already re-committed his future to the Spurs and is unlikely to go anywhere for a while, but Lewandowski has been linked to teams all across Europe, with Man United and Real Madrid frequently coming up as possible transfer destinations.

Lewandowski leads Bundesliga with 29 goals this season, and famously scored five goals in nine minutes last earlier this season.
