Video: John Terry’s devastated reaction to red card which likely ends Chelsea career

Chelsea captain John Terry will be regretting that tackle on Wahbi Khazri this morning.

The 35-year-old’s needless 95th-minute red card in the 3-2 loss to Sunderland means that he is banned for the rest of the season, and has likely made the last of his 703 appearances for the Blues.

And the consequences of his dismissal hit Terry immediately. Check out his reaction in the below video:

He looks up to the sky in a ‘what have I just done’ kind of way, and then buries his head in his hands and stares into the floor as he realises he will not get the Stamford Bridge farewell that he deserves.

As The Guardian reports, Terry is expected to leave Chelsea when his contract expires in the summer, with no new deal on the table despite his outstanding 21 years of service to the Blues.

He has won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League in his Chelsea career. This was not how he would have envisaged it ending…
