Liverpool and Everton handed transfer boost and remain in hunt for Turkish ace

Liverpool and Everton have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Fenerbahce full-back Caner Erkin as Inter haven’t agreed terms with the star.

A source close to the player has informed Turkish-football.com that a deal has not been struck with the Italian giants, and that his future will become clearer in the next fortnight.

Inter had reportedly reached an agreement with the 27-year-old, which in turn was a blow to both Merseyside clubs who had been linked with making a move, as noted by The Express.

Erkin is available on a free transfer this summer with his contract set to expire, and with it seemingly looking unlikely that Fenerbahce will reach a new deal with him, it has opened up a move elsewhere in Europe.

Although he hasn’t featured in the last five league games for the Yellow Canaries, Erkin has eight assists and one goal in 27 appearances for the club this season as he looks ahead to featuring at Euro 2016 this summer.

However, he will likely hope to have his club future sorted sooner rather than later as it doesn’t appear as though it’s guaranteed that he will be plying his trade in Italy next season as Liverpool and Everton will now plot their next move.
