Man United ready to grab Premier League’s best player after missing out on Hummels and Renato

As the transfer window draws closer, more and more of the big names are already making deals. Just this morning Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches agreed to play for Bayern Munich – while the usually high-spending Manchester United got left in the cold. After missing out on the two star players, the Red Devils are looking to set their sights on PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man United are believed to have approached Leicester City about completing a deal for the Algerian winger. Mahrez was a vital component in the Foxes’ remarkable title run, scoring 17 goals and adding 11 assists for the team this season.

Mahrez has reportedly pledged his future to Leicester City as they head to the Champions League next season – something Man United might not be a part of depending on this weekend’s results – and has already drawn significant interest from major European clubs, including Arsenal.
