Mourinho to Manchester United update: Sky Sports reveal latest twist in the tale

Posted by

The ongoing saga about Jose Mourinho‘s potential move to Manchester United has taken another twist, with Sky Sports revealing that there is no agreement in place between the two parties.

As noted on the @SkySportsNewsHQ handle on Friday evening, any suggestion that United and Mourinho have already put pen to paper and agreed terms are false, with the Portuguese coach apparently yet to sign a contract with the club.

The news will surely come as a relief to Louis van Gaal—the incumbent—whose future has been a constant subplot at Old Trafford this season.

The Dutch coach initially impressed upon his arrival in the north west, having undone some of the damage done under David Moyes to take United back to the Champions League.

However, the legendary manager has failed to build on that success this season, and United have struggled to impress in the league and were also dumped out in the group stage of the UCL.

It remains to be seen whether LVG will get the chance to take United back to the continental high table, with the Red Devils’ fate out of their own hands heading into the final day.

Despite van Gaal’s failure, it appears as though the club are currently unwilling to end his happy stay and turn to Mourinho.
