Liverpool star rules out move to Premier League rivals

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has insisted that he is happy at the club and has no intention of sealing a reunion with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.

The 28-year-old was named in Roy Hodgson’s provisional England squad for Euro 2016 on Monday, and will expect to be busy this summer helping the Three Lions achieve success in France.

However, that hasn’t prevented his future from becoming a topic of discussion, even though his more immediate focus will be on helping Liverpool win the Europa League final against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

Despite the potential appeal of working with former boss Pochettino again following on from their successful spell together at Southampton, Lallana has ruled out a move to north London this summer.

“No, not for me. I’ve got three years left on my contract and I’m really enjoying my football under this manager and getting to two cup finals,” he told The Guardian.

“I have always had a good relationship with Pochettino. We are very good friends off the pitch but I am at a massive club, playing some of my best football and getting to cup finals. It would be very difficult. I’m sure he knows that.”

Lallana has made big strides under Jurgen Klopp in recent times, and he’ll be hoping to add to his tally of seven goals and eight assists in the final game of the season in Switzerland on Wednesday with Reds looking to sign off the campaign in style ahead of an important campaign next season.
