Chelsea transfer news: Blues targeting Everton £95m super duo

Posted by

After a frustrating 2015-16 campaign that resulted in their worst finish in 20 years, Chelsea are going all out this summer in an effort to bring in new, young starters. Topping the list of potential transfer targets are a pair of Everton stars who the Blues have been transfixed on for months.

According to the Metro via HLN, Chelsea are planning a bold double-swoop on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku as well as defender John Stones. Per the source the Blues are already in talks with the Toffees about a possible move for the young pair of superstars.

Chelsea tried to land Stones in a £30 million transfer bid this past summer were denied repeatedly.

As for Lukaku, the Belgian striker played for Chelsea briefly prior to being sold to Everton in 2014 and has an estimated price tag of £65 million. Lukaku finished the 2015-16 season as the 4th-leading scorer with 18 goals.

Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League this season after winning the title in the 2014-15 season – making it the worst title defence of any team in Premier League history.
