Arsenal are prepared to break their own wage structure in order to sign Juventus frontman Alvaro Morata.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are keen on signing an elite centre-forward this summer as they look to improve their goal threat ahead of the 2016-17 season.

The tabloid note that Wenger has identified the 23-year-old as the solution to a forward line that didn’t always impress last season, and the French coach is understood to be planning to smash his wage budget in order to bring the Spain international to the Emirates Stadium.

The forward—who has been named in the Spanish squad for the upcoming European Championships—appears to be in line to receive a five-year deal worth an astonishing £155,000 per week.

However, it remains to be seen how the offer will go down with the rest of the Gunners squad, with star man Mesut Ozil currently earning £140,000 per week [as per The Sun].
