Liverpool boss finds his ideal target after Mario Gotze snub

Mario Gotze dealt Liverpool’s summer plans a significant blow as he announced that he was re-committing to Bayern Munich in an effort to force his way back into the starting lineup. However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp won’t have to withdraw his scouts from Germany just yet as another target has emerged for him to land.

According to the Express, Klopp has turned his sights to another highly-touted Bundesliga midfielder – Borussia Monchengladback starlet Mahmoud Dahoud. Per the source, Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the Syrian-born midfielder.

Dahoud had a breakout season for M’Gladbach this year, scoring five goals in 32 appearances while adding eight assists. The 20-year-old central midfielder is reportedly one of Klopp’s top midfield choices this summer. He has Champions League experience as well, having played for M’Gladbach for all six of their group stage matches this past year.

Liverpool’s German manager has already begun raiding Bundesliga’s ranks, with Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius expected to sign with the Reds soon, after undergoing a medical.
