Eye-watering details of Mourinho’s proposed Manchester United bonuses revealed in report

Jose Mourinho could be in line to pick up some astonishing bonuses this season should he achieve success at Manchester United.

According to the Independent, the former Chelsea boss is in line for considerable financial bonuses if he wins either the Premier League or the Champions League.

The Portuguese coach is set to take over a club which is arguably in disarray.

The Red Devils’ FA Cup success hardly hides their gross underachievement in the Premier League—they finished outside the top four this season—and in the Champions League, where they were eliminated in the first round.

Indeed, so miserable was the club’s campaign under Dutch coach Louis van Gaal last season, United won’t be competing in next year’s Champions League, and will have to watch on while rivals Manchester City and Arsenal compete at Europe’s high table.

According to the Independent, the Old Trafford giants are keen for Mourinho to take the club back to the very pinnacle of the continental game, and as such, are primed to offer him astonishing bonuses should he bring major silverware back to the club.

The report states that Mourinho will be due £5 million if he can help the Red Devils to their fourth Champions League title, while he would earn a bonus of £2.5 million if he can win the EPL during his time at the club.
