New Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho is keen to make is first forays into the transfer market before the European Championships kick off, and is keen to begin his summer spending with a double transfer swoop for two Atletico Madrid stars.

The Portuguese coach—who was appointed at Old Trafford on Friday—has already identified four problem areas in the squad, and according to Caught Offside’s insiders, he believes that he can find two solutions at Atletico Madrid.

As such, our insiders report that Mourinho will be sending two scouts—one a representative of Manchester United, and the other an independent contractor—to the Champions League final in Milan on Saturday as Atleti’s Diego Simeone face Real Madrid.

While Mourinho is understood to be considering up to four Rojiblancos stars, the manager is understood to be particularly keen on forward Antoine Griezmann and centre-back Jose Maria Gimenez.

The former, who has scored 32 goals in all competitions this term, including decisive strikes against Barcelona and Bayern Munich, would add a credible goal threat to the Red Devils’ forward line.

Gimenez, while a raw talent, is being considered by Mourinho as a potential long-term partner for Chris Smalling in the heart of the defence, and a cheaper option than the likes of Marquinhos, Raphael Varane and John Stones.
