Borussia Dortmund CEO calls star striker’s transfer rumours “bull****”

After scoring an almost absurd number of goals this past season (39 of them to be exact), Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was seen by many as one of the top transfer targets in Europe and has been linked to some of the world’s biggest clubs. However, someone may have forgotten to tell Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke that the Gabon striker is for sale.

In an interview with Sport Bild [per the Metro], Watzke essentially scoffed at the notion that the 26-year-old scoring machine was poised to leave and called the rumours of his departure “B-S.”

“Is Aubameyang set to leave? That’s bull***t,” Watzke said.

Aubameyang finished the 2015-16 Bundesliga season with 25 goals – second only to Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski’s 30 – and earned Player of the Month honours for October 2015. He has since been targeted by Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Man United along with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Dortmund have already lost Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich and are expected to lose Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City this summer.
