Tottenham eye £30m French striker to pair with Harry Kane

On the heels of recent rumours that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to wash their hands of backup striker Son Heung-min, the London giants may have found a star play who can not only replace the South Korean striker – but pair up nicely with Golden Boot winner Harry Kane.

According to Sun Sport, Tottenham have opened talks with Ligue 1 giants Lyon to acquire star striker Alexandre Lacazette. They will face tough competition though as London rival West Ham United as well as Ligue 1 champions PSG are expected to make bids for him as well. Per the source he is rated at £30 million, but the Spurs are hesitant to pay the full price for the 10-cap French forward.

Lacazette scored 21 Ligue 1 goals for Lyon this past season – only Zlatan Ibrahimovic had more in the French league. He has 76 goals in all competitions over the past three years, and 63 in Ligue 1.

Harry Kane was far and away the leader of the club in scoring with 25 of the team’s 69 goals scored. But contributions from Kane’s understudies were hard to come by. Son scored just four goals in the league and was the only other primary forward to score for the team.
