Everton set to spend £7m of £100m transfer warchest to snare established EPL coach

Everton could be on the brink of possibly their biggest signing of the summer, with Ronald Koeman understood to be poised to join the club as Roberto Martinez’s replacement.

Dutch manager Koeman—currently under contract with Southampton—has impressed in the Premier League, overcoming a series of high-profile player sales to take the Saints to the Europa League.

However, the former Barcelona player looks set to be snared away from the South Coast, with moneybags Everton—operating in a new financial strata following the arrival of Farhad Moshiri—keen to sign the coach as a replacement for Spanish coach Martinez, who was axed ahead of the final match of the season.

According to the Mirror, the Toffees are set to offer Koeman a £7 million-per-year contract which would see the Dutch coach double his current earnings at Southampton.

The big spend to recruit the manager would still leave Everton with the vast majority of their reported £100 million transfer kitty to invest in the playing staff.
