Bid made as Chelsea consider summer move for Euro 2016-bound star & Premier League winner

Chelsea have made an offer to Leicester City for the services of N’Golo Kante following the midfielder’s sterling campaign in the Premier League.

According to The Sun, the Blues have made a £20 million bid for the Franco-Malian star, who is set to represent France at the European Championships this summer.

As confirmed by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri on social media on Friday, the club have already held discussions with the former Stade Malherbe de Caen midfielder and while several meetings have been held, the 25-year-old is understood to be unwilling to make a decision on his future until after Euro 2016.

With neither Nemanja Matic nor Cesc Fabregas having impressed this term, and with Ramires having departed, the Blues appear keen to invest in their central midfield this summer.

However, the tabloid note that a move for Kante may have come about after the club’s hopes of signing Roma’s tenacious box-to-box operator Radja Nainggolan have been dented by stalling talks.

Arguably, Kante is a better option than Nainggolan.
