Real Madrid set to rival Manchester United for £60m superstar as Zidane plots Mourinho transfer tussle

Real Madrid are understood to be planning to battle Manchester United for the signing of Paul Pogba.

Reports in The Sun last week indicated that Jose Mourinho was planning to break the British transfer record to sign the Juventus midfielder, who is coming off the back of another Serie A-winning campaign in Italy.

Pogba began his senior career at United, but was let go by the Red Devils in 2012 and has since gone on to become one of the finest midfielders in the world game.

The tabloid noted that Mourinho has green-lighted an astonishing £60 million move to bring the box-to-box powerhouse back to the Premier League.

However, according to reports in Spain, Los Merengues also have their eyes on Pogba, with Zinedine Zidane planning to go head to head with the Portuguese coach in a transfer battle for the midfielder.

AS [as per Le 10 Sport] note that the European champions are keen on the 23-year-old, and Zizou may well fancy his chances of tempting Pogba out of Mourinho’s grasp and lure him to the glamour of the Bernabeu.
