Premier League fixtures 2016-17 LEAKED: Start tough for Chelsea, kind to Man United; huge early games

The fixtures for the 2016-17 Premier League season have supposedly been leaked.

The official announcement is not scheduled until June 15, and the leaked fixtures are ‘subject to change’, so we are naturally suspicious of how credible the leak is. But let’s play along for now!

If the leak is correct, champions Leicester City will begin their defence at home to Sunderland, while Jose Mourinho starts his Manchester United reign away to newly-promoted Burnley.

The Special One’s opening few fixtures as United boss appear quite kind, with a trip to Turf Moor preceding an Old Trafford debut against West Bromwich Albion, and a visit to Watford.

But Mourinho’s former club Chelsea do not have it so easy. Antonio Conte’s Blues begin with a difficult trip to Southampton and then face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in gameweek three.

That is not the only blockbuster fixture in the early weeks of the campaign. In gameweek two, last season’s top two clash as Arsenal host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium – a match which could be given extra spice by Foxes striker Jamie Vardy’s impending transfer to the Gunners.

West Ham United’s first game at the Olympic Stadium is at home to Championship playoff winners Hull City. Here is the leaked fixture list for the opening three weeks. Fixtures beyond that are available at:
