Oleksandr Zinchenko: Man City closing in on 26-goal wonderkid transfer

Posted by

Manchester City are optimistic that they can seal a deal to sign Russia-based hotshot Oleksandr Zinchenko within the coming weeks.

Goal have reported that the Citizens are keen on the wonderkid hitman—who currently plays for Russian side FC Ufa—and are already working on a move for the teenager.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is coming off the back of a superb campaign, when he scored 26 goals across Russia’s domestic league and cup campaigns.

The attacker’s meteoric rise has continued with a call-up to the Ukraine national side for the upcoming European Championships this summer, despite only making his international senior debut in October.

Coach Mykhaylo Formenko clearly sees the youngster—who became Ukraine’s youngest-ever scorer when he found the net in May—as the kind of player who could help the Eastern European side out of their testing opening group.

However, Goal reveal that while City are keen to sign the teenager this summer, he is not in line for a spot in the Sky Blues’ first-team squad for next season, and would instead be sent out on loan.
