Jamie Vardy leaning towards rejecting Arsenal offer and returning to Leicester City

Are Arsenal about to be snubbed by Jamie Vardy?

According to Bleacher Report Football Insider Dean Jones, Jamie Vardy is leaning towards staying at Leicester City and accepting another pay raise from the team rather than accept Arsenal’s offer.

Per Jones’ report, Vardy feels a “sense of loyalty” to the Foxes after the positive treatment the team showed him, while remaining unconvinced that Arsenal’s brand of football will suit his own playing style.

Several days of verified reports that Arsenal had offered Leicester City big bucks for a chance to sign Vardy ended in breath-holding as Vardy traveled to France for Euro 2016 without signing a deal for anyone – at the Emirates or the King Power. But now it looks like Vardy may be wavering on the idea of becoming the front man for Arsene Wenger’s side and staying loyal to Claudio Ranieri.

Luckily for any now-sulking Arsenal fans, Jones added the caveat that if Vardy has an outstanding Euro 2016, he may feel compelled to make the move to a bigger club and Arsenal executives should not feel that the “deal is dead.”

Vardy was named the Premier League Player of the Season and finished the 2015-16 season as the league’s second leading scorer with 24 goals. During the season he broke the Premier League record for consecutive games with a goal and led Leicester City to their first-ever top-flight title and Champions League berth.
