Portugal starlet prefers Man City over Bayern Munich

Benfica star goalkeeper Ederson appears interested in working with Pep Guardiola and Joe Hart if given the chance.

In a recent Facebook Q&A [per Standard Media], the 22-year-old Ederson said that if given the choice between Manchester City and Bayern Munich, he would choose City.

“City or Munich? They are two great teams, two teams that will fight for titles next season. But I prefer England and City.”

However, Ederson also added that he has no intention of leaving Benfica at this time but admitted that it might not be his decision to make down the road.

“I will not leave (Benfica), do not want to and do not intend to.

“Although the decision is not always 100 per cent made by the player. Unfortunately.”

Ederson kept five clean sheets in 10 Primeira Liga starts for Benfica this past year, and the Portugal giants won 13 of 15 matches in all competitions with him in the net – including a 2-1 win over Zenit in the Champions League.

Man City recently released No. 3 goalkeeper Richard Wright, and the future of No. 2 goalkeeper Willy Caballero remains up in the air despite his Capital One Cup heroics. Ederson, on the other hand, is only 22 and a rising talent in Brazil’s Under-23 team.
