New Everton boss determined to land £30m Belgium superstar

Ronald Koeman is already hard at work figuring out how to help Everton regain top-10 form amidst the prospect of losing numerous star players. At the top of the former Southampton manager’s wish list is Belgium and Zenit St. Petersburg star Axel Witsel.

According to The Sun, Everton are weighing up a bid for Witsel, who reportedly wants to move to a top-five league after spending the last few years in Russia.

Per the source, Zenit are seeking £30 million for Witsel, but Everton have nearly £100 million in spending money this summer and hope to make good use of it to please the club’s new owner.

Everton lost 10-year veteran goalkeeper Tim Howard after he decided to move to MLS, and he isn’t the only player poised to make a summer exit. Striker Romelu Lukaku, defender John Stones and midfielder Ross Barkley have all been linked with moves to big clubs this coming summer.
