Liverpool transfer news: Real Madrid midfielder and Mexico international on agenda

Jurgen Klopp is expected to be a busy man this summer, and that is reflected in the transfer rumours swirling around Liverpool to end this week.

Here are the main transfer stories surrounding the Premier League giants on Friday…

Liverpool linked with Kovacic move

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool could be set to make a surprise move for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatian international has struggled to settle and establish himself in the Spanish capital, and in turn has been linked with an exit this summer.

Thought to be valued at around £24m, Klopp has been paired with an interest as it is also claimed that he could be available on an initial loan deal.

Liverpool want Hector Herrera

Sticking with reports in Italy, it’s claimed that the Reds are also interested in signing Mexico international Hector Herrera.

Napoli are also in the race to acquire him, and have already reportedly offered him a five-year deal worth €1.8m per season.

However, Liverpool are considered strong contenders to deny the Italian side their preferred target, with Porto seeking €20m to allow him to leave this summer.

Skrtel on his way out

After eight years at Anfield, the commanding Slovakian centre-half could be set to leave the club after a £5.5m bid from Fenerbache was reportedly accepted, as noted by The Mirror.

His agent is now said to be negotiating personal terms, and despite the fact that he is playing a key role for his country at Euro 2016 currently, it looks as though his time under Klopp is up after losing his place in the starting line-up last season.

Balotelli linked with exit

Liverpool are keen on offloading the Italian striker to Besiktas, with his agent, Mino Raiola, insisting that he’s waiting for an answer from the Turkish outfit, according to reports in Turkey.

Balotelli spend last season on loan at AC Milan and failed to make a significant impression on the Rossoneri to earn a permanent move back to Italy.

Given he doesn’t fit into Klopp’s plans moving forward, he’ll be on the search for yet another new club.
