Arsenal are in the market for another striker, but may be looking down the table as opposed to above them for the man they want.
According to ESPN, Arsenal have joined the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the heated race for Fulham’s star forward Moussa Dembele. The 19-year-old Frenchman had a breakout season for Fulham but is now out of contract with the club.
The Gunners already have an offer on the table for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, but are wary of the possibility that the BPL Player of the Season will turn them down in the end.
Dembele finished the 2015-16 campaign for Fulham with 15 Championship goals along with a goal in both the FA Cup and Capital One Cup tournaments – giving him 17 in 46 total appearances.
Given Arsene Wenger’s disposition for acquiring prized talents from France, the prospect of molding the talented Dembele in his youth might be enough to make the Arsenal boss submit an offer.
