Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid, with the Foxes conceding that they will lose him this summer.
After a stellar campaign at the King Power Stadium where the combative midfielder helped guide Leicester to the Premier League title, the French international is currently playing an important role for Les Bleus at Euro 2016.
However, his club future continues to dominate headlines, with AS reporting that he has now been offered to Real and they are now considering their position.
Zinedine Zidane has been left impressed with Casemiro in their first few months together with the Brazilian convincing his coach that he is the right man for the holding midfield position in his side.
However, given that the La Liga giants will be competing on various fronts next season, the French legend is concerned that he perhaps needs another player with similar characteristics in order to rotate and keep all of his players fresh throughout the campaign.
Furthermore, the fact that Kante’s release clause of €25.5m could easily be met by the European champions also works in their favour, as it’s ultimately an affordable price in comparison to the significant fees required to sign their other transfer targets including the likes of Paul Pogba.
A move would make sense for both parties, but it remains to be seen whether or not Claudio Ranieri can convince his influential star to stay with him for another season as they prepare to feature in the Champions League.
The Italian tactician is desperate for his main stars to give him another year before considering moves elsewhere, and Kante certainly falls into that group given his crucial presence in the Leicester midfield.
Nevertheless, if the 25-year-old is keen on moving on, then the Foxes will hope to avoid losing him to a rival in England, which in turn paves the way for a move to the likes of Real.
