Neymar courted by three clubs as Barcelona ‘alarmed’ by interest

The future of Neymar at Barcelona has been plunged into further doubt after it was reported that there is only a 50 per cent chance he renews with the club.

Two things appear to be threatening the Catalan giants as Paris Saint-Germain circle, with the Ligue 1 champions not only able to meet any financial demands, but also the fact that they are willing to make the Brazilian their number one star.

While Barca are desperate to tie down the forward’s future, the pressure from PSG is making an impact, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

In turn, they give it a 50 per cent chance that the 24-year-old commits his long-term future to the Spanish champions, while ABC have suggested that rivals Real Madrid could even be a possible destination this summer.

From his legal problems and tax errors, there have been plenty of off-the-pitch distractions for Neymar this past year, although he seems to have dealt with it well considering he played his part in winning La Liga as well as securing a domestic double.

However, he now has a decision to make, as if he is to leave the Nou Camp, then Real, PSG and Manchester United are all waiting to try and convince him that they are the best bet for his future.

While the French club are obviously in a strong position given their financial muscle, the draw of playing for the biggest club in the world in Madrid is something that is unlikely to be ignored.

Further, with Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford, he will hope to restore the Premier League side back at the top of the European tree before too long.

Neymar scored 31 goals and provided 27 assists in 49 appearances last season, as he continued to form a dangerous part of the Barca attacking trident.

However, he still came under fire during the campaign as he stumbled on a personal level which coincided with the team slipping up. Perhaps he’s had enough and wants a fresh start where he will be considered the ‘main man’, and although it seemingly makes sense to stay with Barcelona, what is certain is that there is genuine concern from the club’s perspective over his future.
