£50m-rated Arsenal midfielder a target for Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho plans to make Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey one of his first big transfer signings if his first choice does not work out.

According to The Sun, Mourinho plans to make a bid for Ramsey if he should fail in his bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Per the source, Ramsey has a £50 million valuation.

The report stated that if Dortmund refuse to make Mkhitaryan available for any price, Mourinho is willing to offer Arsenal as much as £35 million to try and secure a sale for Ramsey.

The Sun suggested that Arsenal’s recent £30 million pickup of Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka gives the Gunners more than enough midfield talent to consider letting Ramsey go for the right price.

Ramsey had six goals and five assists in all competitions for Arsenal last season, including two Man of the Match honours for his role in wins over Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
