Antoine Griezmann has dealt a big blow to his Premier League suitors by signing a contract extension at Atletico Madrid until 2021.
The Express has linked the France international forward with a blockbuster move to both Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months.
But his new commitment to the Spanish side means that the coveted 25-year-old is unlikely to be on the move anytime in the near future.
Griezmann has established himself as one of the most potent goalscorers in the world in two seasons at Atletico since joining from Real Sociedad.
He found the net 32 times in all competitions last term to help Atletico reach the Champions League final and mount a serious La Liga title challenge.
Diego Simeone’s decision to shift Griezmann inside to a central role has taken the Frenchman to a new level and made him a sought-after talent.
But it seems that Chelsea, United and any other wannabe suitor will have to direct their attention to other targets, at least for this summer.
