Barcelona have ‘no chance’ of signing star Arsenal defender

Arsenal seem to feel that Hector Bellerin is the future of the club and as such as keeping him well beyond the reach of Barcelona.

According to Sky Sports reporter Guillem Balague [per the Metro], Barcelona may feel that they can bring Bellerin into the fold – but Arsenal disagree in the strongest possible terms.

‘Barcelona are trying to get Hector Bellerin of Arsenal, and they think they have a chance,’ Balague said in his report on SkySportsNews HQ.

‘Arsenal think they’ve got no chance whatsoever.’

In just his second year as a starter for Arsenal, Bellerin earned PFA Team of the Year honours, and a starting role with the Spanish national team.

Prior to joining the Arsenal academy in 2011, Bellerin was a member of the Barcelona youth system from 2003 to 2011. After a short loan spell with Watford in the 2013-14 season, he made his debut for Arsenal at the tailend of the same season and earned his first Champions League appearance in September 2014.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are seeking a replacement for starting defender Dani Alves, who was released from the team after eight seasons at Camp Nou.
