£14m Man City target denies deal in place, has not spoken with Pep Guardiola

Manchester City may or may not have already triggered the £14 million release clause in Celta Vigo midfielder Nolito’s contract. But one person who definitely does not know whether or not a deal has been in the man himself.

According to the Sun, Nolito has denied recent reports that he is close to or has completed a transfer switch to Manchester City, adding that he has not even spoken with Man City manager Pep Guardiola.

“We’ll see what happens with my future, but I won’t complain about how things are going for me sportingly,” Nolito told Radio Marca.

“For now, I haven’t signed with Manchester City but I won’t lie so we’ll see. I haven’t spoken to Guardiola.”

The 29-year-old Celta Vigo midfielder scored 12 goals and made seven assists in 29 La Liga appearances this past season. He is currently serving with Spain in Euro 2016 but reports from his home country claim that a deal was struck between Man City and Celta Vigo days ago.

Per the source, Nolito would serve as a potential replacement for midfielder Jesus Navas – who scored just one goal in 52 appearances for Man City this past season.
