(Video) Euro 2016: Jakub Blaszczykowski breaks Switzerland resolve to finish superb Poland counter-attack

Poland ace Jakub Blaszczykowski scored the opening goal of his side’s last-16 clash with Switzerland in Saint-Etienne on Saturday afternoon.

Poland should have taken the lead in the first minute of the game, but Arkadiusz Milik skied his effort over the bar after an initial mix up in the Swiss defence.

It was a poor effort from the forward who knows he should of done better, and despite a lively start to the game, things settled very quickly between the two sides.

Both teams had chances thereafter to score the all-important first goal of the game, but they were forced to wait until the 39th minute with Kamil Grosicki’s great work in the build-up being rewarded with a composed finish from Blasczcykowski.

The Poles were the favourites to prevail in this encounter, and they will hope to now build on their lead in the second half to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
